Preferred Provider Organization

A Preferred Provider Organization (PPO) is a plan that contracts with healthcare providers at a discount for services.

Participating providers have agreed to accept Century's negotiated rates for covered services, thereby reducing physician and hospital charges for employees and their families.

The PPO includes acute care hospitals and other medical facilities, a wide range of qualified physicians and specialists, and many other medical ancillary providers throughout Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska, and Oklahoma.

The PPO is available for lease by insurance companies, employers, and other group health plans and organizations.

Members of the PPO do not have to worry about filing their own claims. Participating providers have agreed to submit claims to Century for repricing according to the negotiated discount rate. The claim is forwarded by Century to the party responsible for payment which is made directly to the provider.

Century is committed to controlling healthcare costs while preserving patient care standards. All participating providers must meet stringent credentialing requirements, including initial and periodic reviews. Participating provider utilization is monitored by a utilization management and quality assurance program.
