1) Is there a charge or membership fee to join the network?
 
  No. Century does not charge providers to join the network.
 
2) What are my benefits to join the network?
 
  Century serves over 20,000 members and directs over $65,000,000 of health care services annually. Network members will be encouraged to obtain medical services from participating providers to receive better benefits and higher levels of coverage. Century will market your services to the payers and group health plans that access the network.
 
3) What other providers in my area participate in the network?
 
  You may identify all participating providers in your area by accessing the provider directory page of this website.
 
4) Do you accept the standard Kansas or Missouri credentialing application?
 
  Yes. Century will accept the standard Kansas or Missouri credentialing application.
 
5) How long does the credentialing process take to complete?
 
  Once complete information is received by our office, the credentialing process takes approximately three weeks. The effective date is first day of the next month following credentialing.
 
6) Why do you need certain materials for credentialing when the Board of Healing Arts has all the necessary information?
 
  Century does primary source verification and maintains credentialing data for our participating providers on-site under strict and confidential guidelines.
 
7) What do you require for change of address or tax identification number?
 
  Change of address information needs to be sent or faxed to Century in writing. A new W-9 form revised 07/2000 needs to be completed and forwarded to our office if there is a change of tax identification number.
 
8) Will I have to re-credentialed under a new tax identification number?
 
  No. Re-credentialing is not necessary if your tax identification number changes. However, a new W-9 form revised 07/2000 needs to be completed and forwarded to our office.
 
9) Why am I being asked to complete a new W-9 form?
 
  The W-9 form was revised in 07/2000 and must be completed by the provider and maintained in our office.
 
10) Will you refer patients to my practice?
 
  Yes. Members of the network are provided a Provider Directory which lists participating providers. Members are also encouraged to access a current provider directory at our website.
 
11) How will you notify your clients that I participate in the network?
 
  All participating providers are listed in the Provider Directory and at our website. Our website is updated daily and provides members with the most current listing of participating providers.
 
12) Does the whole group have to join or can select providers within a group participate?
 
  Century prefers all providers within a group practice participate although it is not required.
 
13) Can I choose to participate at only one of my multiple locations?
 
  Yes. Most providers choose to participate with Century at all practice locations; however, only the locations designated by the provider will be listed in our Provider Directory and on our web-site.
 
14) Do you credential allied providers?
 
  Yes. Century credentials the following allied providers: Physician Assistants, Nurse Practitioners, Chiropractors, Oral Surgeons, Podiatrists, Nurse Anesthetists, Nurse Mid-Wives, Optometrists, Professional Counselors, Licensed Clinical Social Workers, Marriage and Family Therapists, Physical Therapists, Speech Therapists, and Audiologists.
 
15) Should I bill my PA and ARNP charges under my own tax identification number or the supervising physician’s tax identification number?
 
  Since Century credentials Physician Assistants and Nurse Practitioners you should bill services under your tax identification number, although it is permissible to bill under the supervising physician’s tax identification number.
 
16) Can you make my effective date retroactive to cover a patient I treated prior to my participation in the network?
 
  No. Unfortunately Century is unable to make the effective date of participation retroactive. The effective date is the first day of the next month following credentialing.
 
17) How long does the contract remain in force?
 
  The contract remains in force until terminated by either party in accordance with the terms of the network participation agreement.
 
18) How often do I need to re-credential?
 
  Century re-credentials participating providers every two (2) years.
 
19) Why do I have to fill out a re-credentialing application when nothing has changed?
 
  If no information has changed you can simply note “No Changes” on the re-credentialing application, date, sign, and return the application with updated copies of the items requested.
 
20) Can I file my claims electronically?
 
  Yes. Century accepts electronic claim submissions through Emdeon, formerly WebMD/Envoy, a national clearinghouse. Claims may also be submitted to Administrative Services of Kansas (ASK) who will forward EDI claims to Emdeon on your behalf. Please process all claims under Century’s EDI routing number, 48120. You may call Century’s Customer Service Department at (785) 233-1816 or 1-800-227-0089, extension 370, for more information.
 
21) If I don’t file directly to WebMD/Envoy, can I still file electronically?
 
  Yes. WebMD has exchange agreements with other clearinghouses including Administrative Services of Kansas (ASK). You should contact your clearinghouse directly to inquiry if it will forward claims to WebMD/Envoy.
 
22) What type of organizations lease the network?
 
  Century leases its network to group employer health plans, third party administrators (TPA’s), and insurance carriers. Please feel free to contact Century’s Customer Service Department to obtain a specific list of network payers.
 
23) Who can I call if I have problems or questions?
 
  Century’s Customer Service Department at (785) 233-1816 or 1-800-227-0089, extension 370.
 
24) How are fee allowances determined?
 
  Century’s fee allowances are developed from internal charge information and external professional resources such as fee table databases.
 
25) What if I disagree with the fee allowance or discount?
 
  If you have a concern with a fee allowance you may file a request with supporting documentation to the Director of Network Services at Century Health Solutions.
 
26) How often is the fee schedule updated?
 
  The fee schedule is reviewed annually.
 
27) What are your claim payment guidelines for multiple surgery/procedures, assistant surgery, etc.?
 
  Century does not impose any specific adjustments for claim payment guidelines. Such guidelines are determined by the individual payers according to industry standards and company policy.
 
28) Can you quote fee allowances upon request?
 
  Yes. You may fax or e-mail a list of CPT-4 codes to fee allowances. Please include your corresponding charge with each fee allowance.
 
29) Will the payers name the Century network on the remittance for claim payments?
 
  Century requests its payers to name the Century network on the remittance for claim payments.
 
30) Who do I call to verify eligibility, benefits or to pre-certify?
 
  You will find eligibility, benefits, and pre-certification information on the member’s identification card.
 
31) Does Century cover certain benefits?
 
  No. Century does not “cover” any benefits. Century also does not have specific plan exclusions. Century leases the network to employers, third party payers and insurance carriers. Specific benefit coverage is determined by payers according to their group health plan and schedule of benefits.
